Top 5 Places to Fall Asleep

Sleep? There's a nap for that. I stole that from Pinterest. In fact, it (and my sweet friend Jen) inspired this entire post.

I can fall asleep almost anywhere. Except when it comes time to fall asleep in my bed at bedtime. Then I can't fall asleep to save my life. But usually, I am a great napper. I excel at napping. I would win all the napping medals. I never get tired of napping. See what I did there? There is nothing I would rather do than nap. Except maybe watch "Call the Midwife."

I feel most accomplished when I fall asleep unexpectedly and in my jeans. Have you ever napped in jeans? You should try it. Why?! 1. It's awesome! 2. It's really awesome!! 3. If you are tired enough to fall asleep in your jeans, you deserve it.

Here are my top 5 places to fall asleep:

Number 1: A couch. I always, without fail, fall asleep on people's couches. Whether it's for 3 minutes or for 3 hours, I fall asleep on people's couches. And it's kind of my favourite. I seldom make it through the entire movie. And I don't regret a second of it; I actually prefer to have the ending of every movie explained to me in person.

Number 2: A car. I trained myself at a very young age to fall asleep in the car in order to avoid motion sickness. So naturally as an adult, I still fall asleep in cars as soon as my seatbelt clicks. I don't mind missing out on the views, the car-singing, the conversations, or waking up with a crink in my neck. I love sleeping in the car.

Number 3: A bed. My bed preferably! But when push comes to shove and if I'm real tired, most any bed will do. Most any bed minus my bed here at University because it's not a bed; it's a sad excuse for a bed. It's a bad. And so was that joke. My favourite beds are the makeshift ones that are built for me when I unexpectedly announce that I'm sleeping over (probably because I fell asleep on the couch).

Number 4: The floor. I sit on the floor when I am sad. And I fall asleep on the floor when I'm desperate for sleep. And I'm desperate for sleep when I've kept myself from sleeping by being sad. It's a vicious circle. But when I've waken up from a nap on the floor, I always feel a little better.

Number 5: Next to someone. I am not a touchy person. Ever. Except when I'm asleep. I like to know that someone is next to me. It makes me feel safe. I don't need them to touch me, generally speaking... I would prefer if they didn't. I just need them next to me: on the same couch, in the same car, or on the same floor. Next to me.
